Sailor
In 1911, Kyugoro Sakata, an engineer from Hiroshima, began producing writing instruments. He named the company Sailor (sailor), hoping that the business would expand around the world, much like a sailor's boat trips. It was the first brand to produce fountain pens in Japan and is recognized worldwide for the wide variety of nibs it offers, from the classic, EF to B, to the less common Music or zoom, which allow a wide variety of nuances in the strokes, including the brand's most characteristic nib, the Naginata nib.
