- Design: Elegant and timeless, with a glossy and smooth black body, which gives it an appearance of great sophistication and seriousness.
- Body (Barrel): Made of high-quality precious resin, deep black in color. The surface is polished to achieve a glossy finish.
- Cap and Details (Trim):
- The cap is made of precious black resin to match the barrel.
- The decorative rings (two on the cap and one on the end of the barrel) and the distinctive "pelican beak" shaped clip are plated in 24-karat gold. This provides a luxurious contrast and a touch of warmth to the black design.
- Mechanism: It uses an international standard rollerball refill (type G2). Pelikan produces its own rollerball refills (e.g. 338), but is also compatible with other brands that use this format.
- Balance and Weight: The R800 is a rollerball with considerable weight and balance, providing a solid and comfortable feeling in the hand, especially for extended writing sessions. Its weight is greater than the R400/R600.
